Crowns are like helmets for your teeth

Crowns or caps cover your teeth and protect them from fractures. They are essential for root canal filled teeth, heavily worn teeth or teeth with large fillings. Where a single tooth is missing and an implant is placed, a crown is attached to the implant and acts as a tooth replacement. 

Bridge the gap between teeth or implants

If you have some missing teeth, we can replace the missing teeth with a bridge. A bridge is made out of three or more crowns, fused to each other in a subtle way, being supported by teeth or implants on either side. Even though crowns in a bridge are fused, they’re made to look like individual teeth. 

What are crowns and bridges made of?

Crowns and bridges can be made out of ceramic, gold, or a combination of the two. At The Dentist, we use the latest ceramic materials, which are extremely tough. However, the old ‘gold tooth’ is as durable and tough as the new ceramic so, in some cases, gold may be the material of choice.
